Blending pop culture with frontier mythology, the painting reimagines the legend of Annie Oakley. It collapses history and fiction, into the image of a young woman who stands confidently, holding a rifle and wearing a “Camp Walden” patch—a playful reference to The Parent Trap (98). The figure is part legendary frontierswoman, part modern girl at cam. The simplified forms and vivid colors heighten the sense of timelessness, turning the portrait into a meditation on the enduring human impulse to tell stories. It invites viewers to consider what myths are part of their story, their identity.
